Daily Prompt: Land of Confusion

Tell us about a time when you felt out of place.

Victim out of place The door opened, there she stood, naked. “Come in,” she said, “Don’t stand there like a lemon!”

“But I came for the money,” I said, holding tight on the gun.

“Oh, but of course, I did not expect anything else…”

“Well, maybe not,” I thought, walking into the room.

Then all hell broke lose. Someone open fire with what sounded like an AK47.

By then I had reversed to my native shape. I blasted everyone with a swift laser swipe, girl, thugs and all. I collected the loot and set fire to the den.

It will teach me to appear human in front of gangsters…

#AtoZChallenge: April 13 – L is for LASER

“A laser is a device that emits light (electromagnetic radiation) through a process of optical amplification based on the stimulated emission of photons. The term “laser” originated as an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation.[1][2] The emitted laser light is notable for its high degree of spatial and temporal coherence, unattainable using other technologies.” From Wikipedia:

At the club entrance two rows of bouncers smile at you appreciatively. Your companion follows you in, smiling too. The vast space is packed: not only had the club announced the presence of the celebrity, a pair of ace DJ’s were there in-between, which promised a hectic night. Your companion is, evidently, attracting less attention than you, the laser lights playing on your long blond hair, your svelte body enhanced by the ultra short pants and the thin bodice: a symphony of colours and sounds, ever changing. Friends are greeting you and gesticulating. You draw your companion to the dance floor immediately, waving to a crowd of girls who could not fail to recognise you. Someone in the tech department has spotted you and is playing with the lasers. Suddenly the DJ announces: “Please welcome Miss Gaga and her mystery girlfriend!” You kiss her on the mouth, the lights playing on the poker face.
