Ice contains no future, just the past, sealed away.

Haruki Murakami

Last time we walked near the lake was in Autumn. Then, we watched a kingfisher, bright flash of colours, in the silence of the woods. Today there is no colour, the ice is deep, we only hear the sound of the wind through the naked trees. We will have to wait, for sometime the thaw will come, and the dogs of war will disappear in the mist. Sometime Spring will come.
