I could have stayed. But I chose to follow you, at a distance, too shy for interfering, perhaps.

Had I stayed we would, by now, have evolved into another kind of beings. One of these hybrid creatures of the ancient world, perhaps, half human, half monster, searching forever for our mirror image. Maybe we would not live here anymore. Maybe we would have gone into space, blindly.
