In Lauenburg
The river flows, grey on grey, and fast is the Elbe.
Through the wet cobbled streets, past the old mariner observing the clouds, we walk hand in hand.
So dark the sky, so fast the clouds, when we see her, behind the window.
You smile, she smiles, you have acknowledged each other.
For like you she’s beautiful, and her gesture enticing, like yours…
A geography lesson, a travelogue, and a poem – all in one. Great use of (I assume) your pictures – looks like the storm had just passed. Curiously interesting!

Yes, my pics taken on our way to Lübeck, this Summer. Lauenburg was very affected by the earlier floods this year, as were many towns along the Elbe. Thanks for visiting.
